In early November 2021 Intel® introduced a https://kong-gb-casino.co.uk/ new generation of processors Alder Lake With hybrid architecture. Today we managed to get to know them personally: Hyperpc I sent a computer Cyber Based on the flagship Core i9-12900K paired with top RTX 3090.
Generation No. 12
In general, the 12th generation Intel ® Core ™ could limit himself to typical “improved here, improved there, once again changed architecture and received +19% of the performance relative to last year’s 8-year-olds”. But, fortunately, Intel went the other way and decided to experiment. Another 8 energy-efficient nuclei (E-Core) added to the usual set of 8 cores per 16 streams in Core i9, which gave 16 nuclei and 24 streams in total. Yes, E-Core work at a lower frequency, do not support Hyper-Threading and are built on architecture Gracemont , grown from mobile Atom® , And their performance is formed with the main nuclei. Intel itself claims that the last Gracemont nuclei are not inferior in performance Skylake, which was used on Intel Core from the sixth to tenth generation.
What do we have in the end? Top i9 are assembled according to scheme 8 productive (P-Core) + 8 energy-efficient nuclei (E-Core); i7 – according to the scheme 8+4; Well, and i5 is a scheme 6+4. Why come up with such difficulties? In fact, there are a lot of options. Here are the most obvious: such multi -seasoners are cheaper than classic layouts – especially in the case when all the nuclei are on the same chipper. But there are less obvious options: in this way, Intel solves one very acute problem that is rarely raised in reviews – energy consumption and cooling of modern processors with the number of nuclei more than 8 or 10. And with this, as with the requirements for the nutrition of motherboard, there are difficulties: multi-core processors eat 250-300 watts of energy, and ordinary air coolers simply cannot cope with them.
The new hybrid proits, in theory, can solve these problems, because the work scheme for them should be the following. Relatively speaking, Call of Duty we are spinning on productive nuclei, and some Discord , OBS and an equalizer for a microphone – on energy -efficient. Moreover, Render in 3DS MAX can simultaneously use all 24 streams of the same i9. Yes, the nuclei will work at different frequencies and calculate the elements of the picture at different speeds, but their result will eventually develop.
But so that all this at least somehow worked not in theory, but in practice, the tasks between the nuclei should be very competently distributed. For this, the 12th generation Intel Core introduced technology Intel® Thread Director , whose legs grow from well -known Intel® Turbo Boost and Intel® Speed STEP. Naturally, Thread Director was tightly integrated into the planners Windows , And, importantly, this integration works both in the new 11th OS and in the Ten of the Ten. The latter, however, has some nuances, but they are not so critical as to say that Alder Lake works only with Windows 11.
Well, another very important change: Intel gained courage and one of the first companies refused such a parameter as nanometers. And this is the right move. We have been talking about five years in gambling about the fact that there is a complete leapfrog with nanometers: everyone receives this figure as he wants, and by some methods. Say, nanometers from Samsung cannot be compared with nanometers from TSMC or Globalfoundries. Against this background, Intel has long tried to call some real numbers-this is the story with endless 14 nanometers-but this year the company seems to be completely tired of everything, and now the Intel process is called just “seven”, without any nanometers or there are nanometers or there centimeters.
However, only internal changes in the 12th generation were not limited. The new 600th chipsets received a fresh LGA 1700, WiFi 6E at 6 GHz, their own PCIe 4 lines.0 on the southern bridge, wider DMI 4 bus.0 x8 between the chipset and the processor, the new type of memory DDR5 and the new PCIe 5 interface.0 with double bandwidth and direct connection to the processor.
In general, as you know, Intel is completely not ordinary. We will probably still return to its study, but today we will only look at it as part of a computer from Hyperpc, which is no less curious than the new Intel platform.
Hyperpc Cyber
To begin with, it is impossible to assemble this system itself. Of course, you can buy the same motherboard, processor, video card and memory, but the problems will begin further: the case, SSD and even (in some cases) processor cooling system are produced under the Hyperpc brand and are not sold separately.
It is clear that analogues can be found no worse, and Hyperpc itself is unlikely to build any plants or production lines. Here is interesting the very moment that no one else but them has this.
Here I will explain. If you take any other PC assembly company, they always work according to the standard: they take components from the nearest store, collect them together, and at the same time, depending on skills, they can make custom water, configure the BIOS and even disperse the computer. But such assemblies do not give the feeling of something unique: I personally understand that I can go to the store and do the same much cheaper and often even better. But with Hyperpc I can’t do this, because separately such cases and cooling systems are not for sale.
Inside
The case here is called Hyperpc Cyber - just like the computer as a whole. This is a half -open model, in which two glasses on the left and right act as a rib of stiffness, the front side is visually and is divided into two parts using the backlight, and the upper cover can rise. All control and switching are on the front panel on the left: these are two USB, pair 3.5 mm jacks and power button.
The side covers, as I said, are made of glass, and the entire case is assembled from aluminum. Moreover, we got this computer in a fairly calm gray color, but when ordering you can ask to paint the case in general in any color and with different shades on panels. That is, the front part can be made purple, the top – blue, and pour the entire bottom red.
The glass of this case is removed very simply: you unscrew the screws and remove from the five pins. I note that without sidewalls the structure remains hard – there is no feeling that it will now turn it in half if you do not put glass. Inside, everything is collected very carefully: even on the right wall, where everyone usually has a complete mess with wires, the cables are woven into a single tourniquet and closed with dense matter. This applies even to the Lian LI controller, which controls the backlight of the cable cables of the motherboard and the video card.
By the way, all the backlight – and these are cables, the motherboard, the video card and six hull fans – are tied to the unified system of ASUS AURA SYNC and synchronized among themselves. The only thing that is controlled separately is the screen on the processor cooling system. This is a Gigabyte RGBFUSION, but it will be needed only if you want to change the Hyperpc logo and install something of your. And since they affected the cooling system, the pump and the radiator are the top system Gigabyte Aorus Waterforce X360. But native fans are replaced by proprietary Hyperpc.
In the main compartment, everything is collected as it should: in fact, you see only highlighted cables to the motherboard, the same to the video card, and, of course, the tube of the liquid cooling system. All other cables are so neatly folded that you just don't notice them.
All this is eaten from the power supply Asus One kilowatts. Motherboard – ASUS ROG Maximus Z690 Hero , And this is probably one of the most sophisticated ASUS boards on my memory, and both in the technical part and software. There are a lot of small ones, let's say, amenities. Intellectual control of fans, ligament of fans in one large system, again intellectual backlight control, sound tract on the Tsap Ess Sabre , Digital noise reduction, and at the same time an absolutely unrealistic set of ports: Type-C alone costs three pieces, and two of them support Thunderbolt 4. Well, here I will note two pseudo -screenings (next to the socket and on the South Bridge), which, again, can be synchronized with all the backlight.
The video card is also from ASUS – ASUS ROG-STRIX -RTX3090-024G-GAMING. Everything is standard for design: behind a metal stiffness bar, three turntables and a little backlight on the side. The fee is good for frequencies: it is 1800-1900 MHz at a temperature of about 65-68 ° C.
The disk subsystem we had a completely unimaginable. These are three SSDs under the Hyperpc brand on Phison controllers and one, two and four terabytes. At the same time, two younger disks are the GP50 models with a maximum speed for reading 5 GB/s. And the most voluminous one is already a top model GP80 at 6.8 GB/s and a price at the region of 120,000 rubles. Note that our operating system stood on the junior disk for 1 TB, which was connected via PCIe 3.0 and issued 3.5 GB/s for reading and 3.4 GB/s to record.
And finally, the most important is the processor. This is Intel Core i9-12900K with 8 manufacturing and 8 energy-efficient nuclei with a total number of flows 24 pieces. The frequency of fast nuclei can reach 5.2 GHz, and energy -efficient – 3.9 GHz. In practice, such figures really periodically skip, but, of course, not when all the nuclei are loaded.
Tests
In fact, normal values for our copy are 4.9 GHz on productive nuclei and 3.7 in energy efficient. At the same time, energy consumption is laid in 240 watts. This is a lot, but not catastrophically a lot. For example, 9900K for 8 cores with a fixed 4.7 GHz fixed me at 300 watts. But, again, 240 are working tasks. Everything is much more modest in games. The maximum that I saw is 85 watts in Hitman 3 , 70-75 W Metro: Exodus and approximately 65-67 watts in Far Cry 6.
Now as for heating. I can’t name a new new Intel: after all, 240 watts are a lot, and they need to be somewhere. But specifically in our case, the same Hyperpc custom system coped with the task. Yes, of course, the room was warming up to be healthy, but in our games this stone did not rise above 55-60 ° C, and under rendering and 100% with the load of all nuclei, it was a maximum of 86 ° C, and even then only one core. But the most remarkable thing is that even under Prime95 it turned out in the region of 92-95 ° C without throwing away the frequency.
Here, however, it should be noted that the system did not work in the stock. Hyperpc took all the restrictions on the nutrition of the stone, which led to high frequencies under the AVX load. Plus they felt for a very low operating voltage of a crystal of only 1.13 V. For comparison: a system without tuning easily jumps to 1.35 V, and you can imagine what temperatures in the drain this can lead.
Well, the last two factors that should be noted in this computer: noise and performance. On the first point, everything is quite expected: we have a video card here, which eats under 400 watts, and a processor that can eat another 250 watts, and all this in an open building.
Therefore, according to the noise, the computer gains 42-45 dB in games, which is comparable to top laptops in the load. But I will not draw any conclusions here. The system was assembled and tuned clearly for us and for maximum results: literally a couple of settings in the same Armoury Crate and Aorus Engine plus the return of some restrictions in BIOS, and everything becomes much quieter and calmer.
In terms of performance in games, there is actually nothing to tell: this PC is not afraid of neither reitrasing, nor 4K permits, nor maximum settings. That is, this is the assembly in which, no matter what you do, you will get 60 FPS in 4K without rays and for 100 FPS in Full HD. And in the same Vanguard I stably received 290 frames at the minimum settings and 260 when the OBS recording on the processor is turned on.
I will summarize. The new generation of Intel turned out to be very interesting, and it is clear that these stones can impose an AMD competition, but how serious they will show deeper tests. As for the computer, then to the version that I had, there are no complaints. This is an original system that performs all the tasks, does not throw off frequencies and drags all games to the maximum. Separately, I note that the guarantee for this assembly is 2 years, which include consultations by phone and maintenance in authorized centers in 40 cities of Russia. Also in some cities of the Russian Federation, a broken computer can take a courier.
